Gene Geiger joins A-lign Security and Regulatory Compliance Services

Firm Practice Leader Scott Price is proud to announce the addition of Gene Geiger who will be Director of A-lign Security and Regulatory Compliance Services.

Prior to joining A-lign, Gene was responsible for the PCI-DSS security compliance of a Fortune 500 processor. In this role he analyzed projects, processes and controls to ensure compliance with PCI-DSS requirements; and he consulted with senior management regarding initiatives that could impact security. He also worked with the QSA firm on resolving issues identified and preparing the report on compliance. In addition, Gene was responsible for the controls related to FFIEC exams, SAS 70/SSAE 16 and TG-3/TR-39 audits.

Early in his career Gene was an executive with a ‘Big 4’ accounting firm providing risk based security and attestation services. He has extensive internal audit experience as the leader of the internal audit function for a Fortune 1000 company’s technology division. He introduced the risk based audit approach to the department to focus resources on high impact areas. He also led their first year implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley. Gene developed the project plan and methodology for the company and managed domestic and international teams, as well as external resources, through the implementation. He has hands on experience developing and implementing strong systems of internal controls across disparate systems and locations for large and mid-sized companies.

Gene attended Florida State University where he received his Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and recently passed the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) exam.
