In July, Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the most sweeping change to the financial industry in response to the economic meltdown. While the act has changed the way Wall Street can do business, it also created an independent watchdog group.
That group, called the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is meant specifically to help the general public. Scott Price, a member of the National CPA Financial Literacy Commission, joined Good Day to explain what the bureau does and where consumers can get help.
