Scott Price - Managing Director

Scott Price is the Managing Director of A-lign CPAs.  With over 15 years of professional experience and in excess of 730 SAS 70/SSAE 16 audits performed, Scott is widely recognized as the most experienced SAS 70/SSAE 16 auditor in the world.  Scott’s unique blend of both audit and business process knowledge brings value to each audit he manages.  

Scott began his career with Arthur Andersen LLP (Arthur Andersen) in the Tampa office where he quickly became a firm- wide resource regarding SAS 70 audits.  Scott’s SAS 70 clients at Arthur Andersen included telecommunications, financial services and data center companies.  Scott drafted the Arthur Andersen SAS 70 audit methodology for the Southeast United States and released it nationally in October 2001.  In May 2002, Scott Price left Arthur Andersen to form the first-ever CPA firm to focus solely on performing SAS 70 audits; SAS 70 Solutions, Inc., where he served as President from 2002 to 2009.  Scott joined A-lign CPAs in 2009 to broaden his service offering by providing cost effective compliance solutions to companies throughout the globe.  

Scott is heavily involved in the formation of the accounting and auditing profession through his service in state and national organizations.  Scott has served in the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants on the Board of Governors, Chair of the Finance and Office Advisory Committee and is the 2011-2012 President- Elect.  Nationally, Scott is an elected member of the AICPA Council serving a three-year term representing Florida on the Council.

 

 

Neil Gonsalves - Director

Neil Gonsalves is a Director at A-lign CPAs.  With over 16 years of professional experience and in excess of 220 SAS 70/SSAE 16 audits performed, Neil brings the depth and breadth of SAS 70 audit experience to our clients that only a few practioners in the profession can claim.  

Neil began his career with Ernst & Young (E&Y) in India and performed what is believed to be the first SAS 70 audit done in India.  He helped start the IT Audit and SAS 70 practice for E&Y in India.  After moving to E&Y’s US practice Neil was responsible for leading and managing its SAS 70 practice within the Southeast area.  Neil’s prior responsibilities included overseeing the completion of over 30 SAS 70 audits annually, assisting in developing the firm’s SAS 70 audit methodology and training.  Neil also served as a Quality Assurance Reviewer on a number of SAS 70s.  Furthermore,  he assisted in developing SAS 70 educational materials and led training of firm personnel at each of the area’s offices.  Neil has experience in financial and information systems auditing, governance, risk assessments, and controls implementation and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.  

More recently Neil has been actively involved in working with clients to educate them and help them plan for the implementation of the new Global – ISAE 3402, Assurance Reports on Controls at a Third Party Service Organization; the US equivalent – Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE 16) Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization; and the new Service Organization Controls (SOC) Reports.

Neil has provided professional services for multiple Global 1000, Fortune 500 and regional companies during the course of his career.

Neil has served as the Co-chair of his former firm’s Southeast Pan-Asian Professionals Network and also as a Board Member of the Atlanta Chapter of Ascend (a national organization formed to enhance the presence and influence of current and future business leaders of Asian and Pacific Islander descent).  Neil is an active presenter at various seminars and conferences and provides significant thought leadership through his presentations.
